The 2018 dragon boat season in Cleveland is here! The CDBA, a non-profit, 501c3 organization, is the umbrella organization for Greater Cleveland teams and coordinates an annual festival and race-day. This year's festival will be held on Aug. 11, 2018 at Black River Landing in Lorain, Ohio.
CDBA teams practice on the Cuyahoga River at Rivergate Park (in front of the Merwin’s Wharf restaurant) at 1785 Merwin Avenue in the Flats. The CDBA owns three practice boats and has paddles and life jackets available for all teams. Get a season pass for only $75 or pay $5 per session, good for Learn To Paddle or any team practice (contact the Team for open seat info if you are not on the team).
Dragon boating is great exercise, offers wonderful camaraderie, and is open to people of all ages and abilities. We are a VERY affordable sport; it’s $75 for a season pass, or $5 per practice session. Festival fees vary, depending on the type of team.
We have corporate-sponsored teams, cancer-survivor teams, and community teams. Area organizations and businesses foster team-building through both one-time outings as well as on-going practice and festival racing. New teams may form at any time!
