The 2018 dragon boat season in Cleveland is here! The CDBA, a non-profit, 501c3 organization, is the umbrella organization for Greater Cleveland teams and coordinates an annual festival and race-day. This year's festival will be held on Aug. 11, 2018 at Black River Landing in Lorain, Ohio.
CDBA teams practice on the Cuyahoga River at Rivergate Park (in front of the Merwin’s Wharf restaurant) at 1785 Merwin Avenue in the Flats. The CDBA owns three practice boats and has paddles and life jackets available for all teams. Get a season pass for only $75 or pay $5 per session, good for your team practice as well as any other team practices if they have a seat open.
Dragon boating is great exercise, offers wonderful camaraderie, and is open to anyone. We’ve had paddlers from age 13 to 80. We have corporate-sponsored teams, cancer-survivor teams, and community teams, which means any individual can join but will need to pay his or her fees (covered when a company or organization sponsors a team).
We are a VERY affordable sport; it’s $75 for a season pass, or $5 per practice session. Festival fees vary, depending on the type of team.
If you’re interested in learning more about dragon boating, you can email us at email@example.com or call us at 440-399-7373. Starting in June, we’ll be offering Learn to Paddle sessions every Sunday at 1 p.m. at Rivergate Park (in front of the Merwin’s Wharf restaurant) at 1785 Merwin Avenue in the Flats. We’ll be posting information soon about how to register.
