What is Dragon Boat Racing?
Dragon Boat racing is held throughout the world and is one of the fastest-growing water sports. It involves teamwork, a high degree of energy, and enthusiasm. Is any prior experience needed?
No experience necessary! Dragon Boat racing is for all ages and levels of fitness. If you enjoy working with teammates and having fun on the water, Dragon Boat racing is for you. Teams will have the opportunity to practice together, learn proper paddling techniques and develop the ability to work as a team. Still not convinced that this sport is for you? What is a Dragon Boat?
A Dragon boat is approximately 40 feet (12 meters) in length and holds a team of 22 people. The team consists of 20 paddlers, a drummer, and an experienced steersman (provided by Cleveland Dragon Boat Association). We recommend 4 alternate persons for a total team of 24 paddlers.
